What You Should Know: Choosing a Wedding Photographer in Fresno

There are many reasons to consider when you choose your wedding photographer. But of all the reasons I can list, I can only offer you one piece of advice that will never fail you during your seach for a photographer: BE IN LOVE WITH YOUR WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER.

Your wedding is one of the most important events your life's timeline. You already know this -- that is probably why you are reading this. Moreover, you believe that your wedding photography (apart from the prescence of your family and friends, and apart from the ceremony site and reception venue) is one of the crucial elements of your special day. It has been said before that after the wedding, the only things you're left with is each other and your photographs. This is exactly why you have a good reason to be particular when choosing a wedding photographer.

If you have ever spoken to me before about wedding photography, you have probably heard me liken choosing a photographer to getting a tattoo. You may never ever think of getting a tattoo on yourself, or you may already have several, but listen to me for a minute. This is what I mean:

Let's take a trip to the tattoo parlor. This is all hypothetical now, but when you decide to get a tattoo for yourself, you will research for hours, and days, and weeks about the image you want to be permanently marked on your body. You will sketch out your idea over and over again until you know it is perfect. If you are as particular about your body parts as most people are, you will also look for the best tattoo artist that will best interpret your image or idea onto your body. When you are getting this piece of art imprinted on yourself, you will spend hours, maybe even several sessions with your tattoo artist until the image is inscribed on your body the way you envisioned it in the beginning. And, after all is said and done, this image is undeniably and eternally marked on your skin.

Now, let's skip to back to your wedding. Your special day happens once and once only -- hopefully :). Depending on your personality, you may have planned a few, some, or even all the details of your special day. Before the event, you usually meet with your wedding photographer and plan a schedule of events, so that they know the key moments to photograph. Some brides even plan the entire day according to the type of images their photographer wants to create. During the wedding, no one else will spend more time with you than your photographer. He or she will be with you throughout the entire day. After the wedding, you will often have a post-wedding consultation or an album consultaion to make sure that you receive all the images you would like to keep. The images (and your fiancee) are what you get to keep for as long as you live.

That is exactly what I emphasize the importance of getting the right photographer for you and your fiancee. I may not be the right photographer for you. I am not the ultimate photographer by far, and my style does not suit everybody. But, if you look at my images and you are inspired, if you are passionate about the art that I make, if you are as expressive about life and love as I try to be through my images, then we should probably talk.
